1798 Society
The
1798 Society is comprised of donors who give $1,000 or more to
U of L annually. These donors can designate their gifts to a specific
department, program or scholarship, or they can request their contribution
be used where it is most needed.
The
1798 Society's name refers to the year the Kentucky state legislature
passed an act establishing the Jefferson Seminary, the predecessor of
the University of Louisville. 1798 Society members set an exemplary standard
of giving and encourage the participation of others in advancing U of
L's educational mission.
1798
Society members receive many special benefits, including:
•
Invitations to donor recognition and campus events
• Borrowing privileges at U of L libraries
• Receipt of University publications and other special mailings
• Recognition on the University Club's Wall of Honor
• Charitable tax deductions for gifts
The
membership to the 1798 Society or U of L Society can include a joint gift
with spouse and is renewable annually (membership follows the fiscal year,
July 1-June 30). |
